ABOUT US

Why Work With Restore Counseling & Therapy

Everyone has a story. We’re here to listen to yours.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’ve tried many options without success. Many clients come to us exhausted by their efforts, feeling trapped in the same challenges, unsure of where to turn next.

We recognize that you are more than your past experiences and challenges. We know that you have dreams, goals, and aspirations. We actively listen to your story and build bridges from where you are now to where you want to be.

We believe that healing happens in a space of safety, trust, and respect. We welcome and affirm people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

We are committed to providing a compassionate and inclusive environment where you can be your authentic self. No matter your story, you are valued, you are seen, and you are welcome here.

With over a decade of experience, we built our practice on individualized, trauma-informed therapy that gets results. We help you make connections, identify patterns, and guide you through those “lightbulb” moments to unlock real, lasting change.

The second you feel heard—that’s when therapy will work.

At Restore Counseling & Therapy, we believe therapy should be:

Effective

Therapy is an investment of time, effort, and money, so it should bring real, lasting results. We always keep effective, results-based therapy as the goal.

Individualized

Every person is unique, so we personalize therapy to meet your needs. Your flexible treatment plan evolves with you, staying relevant as you make progress.

Trauma-Informed

Many people carry trauma without realizing it. By treating trauma for what it is—rather than seeing it as a flaw or weakness—you can make lasting, meaningful change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each session is a conversation and collaboration between you and your therapist. They are generally 50 minutes long and may include practicing mindfulness or breathing techniques, discussion of specific situations, and processing experiences from your life.

EMDR sessions may be longer and involve different techniques. Prior to beginning EMDR, you will discuss the process thoroughly with your therapist and have an opportunity to explore questions or concerns you may have. You are completely aware of yourself and your surroundings the whole time.

Counseling and therapy are an investment in yourself. The standard session rate ranges from $150- $200. Limited sliding scale spots are available based on need.

We are out of network with all insurance providers. HSA and FSA plans may cover the cost of counseling. Further, we have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for our services.

Most clients find that when they put forth effort in therapy, they start to see real progress. Therapy provides a dedicated, safe place to work through persistent problems, break through areas where you might feel stuck, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

There are many reasons you might choose to work with a therapist. Clients often come to therapy during transitions such as becoming a parent, entering college, career changes, or retirement; when they are experiencing relational changes such as engagement, marriage, or divorce; to explore their sexual orientation, gender identity, or racial or ethnic identity; or to deal with specific concerns about anxiety, depression, or other mental health symptoms. Whatever the reason, therapy provides a supportive space to navigate life’s changes, gain clarity, and create a path forward that aligns with your true self.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the healing process. We work best with individuals who are motivated for change and ready to engage in meaningful, in-depth work.

We also believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key, so we encourage you to reach out for a consultation. This gives you a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether our approach feels right for you. If we’re not the best fit, we’re happy to offer referrals to other providers who may better meet your needs.

EMDR is a well-researched form of psychotherapy that has been shown to help individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, and other distressing symptoms. Through collaboration with a trained clinician, EMDR allows you to tap into your brain’s natural capacity for healing and specifically target distressing symptoms. It is generally more efficient in treating trauma than traditional talk therapies.

The American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs/Dept. of Defense, The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and the World Health Organization among many other national and international organizations recognize EMDR therapy as an effective treatment.

Most clients find virtual therapy to be the same or better than in-person therapy. Virtual sessions allow you to easily work around your job commitments or childcare, and eliminating the commute makes it easier to find the time to have therapy sessions. You have the convenience of working with a fully licensed therapist in your home or office, and by using secure video chatting, you are still able to maintain confidentiality and the visual experience of being in person.

Your appointment time is reserved for you and you alone, and so in order to serve all clients well, we ask that you provide at least 24 business hours (M-F) notice to cancel or reschedule. If it’s less than 24 business hours notice, you will be charged for the full rate of the appointment with the credit card you have placed on file with us at the time of your intake session. In the case of a true emergency, please contact your therapist to discuss as the fee may be waived.

Absolutely. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all. We welcome individuals of all ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, races, religions, and spiritual practices. Our approach is rooted in respect, compassion, and nonjudgment, ensuring that you feel seen, valued, and supported throughout your journey, whatever that may include.
